Gurugram Woman Biker Hit by Car After Alleged Chase; FIR Registered

Gurugram: A Sunday group ride on Gurugram’s Golf Course Road turned dangerous after a woman motorcyclist was allegedly chased by a car and later knocked off her sports bike. The incident was captured on an action camera and went viral on social media, prompting police action.

The biker, identified as Sia, was riding an Aprilia RS 457 with a group of fellow riders when a white sedan allegedly began following them. According to her account, the occupants repeatedly came close to her motorcycle and behaved aggressively.

Sia alleged that she asked the car occupants to maintain a safe distance, but the situation escalated. She claimed the occupants wanted her to stop and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. One of her fellow riders attempted to position his motorcycle between Sia and the car as the group continued moving.

The car allegedly continued following her before moving across her path and colliding with the motorcycle. The impact threw Sia onto the road, while her bike was dragged for several metres. The car then left the scene.

One of Sia’s fellow riders pursued the vehicle and later confronted the driver when the car stopped at a traffic signal. However, the driver reportedly denied responsibility and left the location.

Footage of the incident subsequently spread widely online and triggered demands for action against the driver.

Following the circulation of the video, Gurugram Police took cognisance of the incident and registered an FIR at Sector 56 Police Station under Section 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which deals with rash driving. Police have identified the alleged driver and formed three teams to trace him.

The investigation is continuing as police work to establish the complete sequence of events and locate the person who was driving the car at the time of the collision.
