Pune Crime: JW Marriott Manager Booked Over 947-Hour Delay in Reporting Foreign Guest
The manager of the JW Marriott Hotel on Senapati Bapat Road in Pune has been booked for allegedly failing to report the stay details of an Italian national within the prescribed time. According to the police complaint, the information was recorded 39 days and 11 hours late — a delay of 947 hours. Police are investigating the reason behind the delay and whether anyone else was involved.
Pune: The manager of the well-known JW Marriott Hotel on Senapati Bapat Road has been booked after police alleged that information regarding the stay of an Italian national was not submitted to the concerned authorities within the required time.
According to the complaint, the foreign national arrived at the hotel on June 7, 2026. However, the hotel administration reportedly recorded the required information only on the evening of July 17, 2026.
This resulted in a delay of 39 days and 11 hours, or 947 hours, in recording the information related to the foreign guest's arrival and stay.
Complaint Filed by Police
The case was registered at Chaturshringi Police Station based on a complaint filed by Assistant Police Naik Vishal Dayanand Borde.
Police have booked the hotel manager under Section 23(d) of The Immigration and Foreign Act, 2025, as mentioned in the complaint.
Authorities require hotels and other establishments accommodating foreign nationals to submit relevant information to the concerned authorities within the prescribed timeframe.
Why the Delay Has Raised Questions
Information concerning the identity and stay of foreign nationals is considered important from a security and immigration perspective.
Police are now investigating whether the delay occurred due to negligence, an administrative lapse or any other reason. Investigators are also examining whether any other individuals had a role in the alleged failure to report the information on time.
