Pune: Man Attacked with Sickle During Attempted ₹5 Lakh Bag Snatching in Swargate
A 58-year-old man was attacked with a sickle by three unidentified individuals during an attempted bag snatching in Pune's Swargate area. The bag reportedly contained ₹4 lakh to ₹5 lakh. The injured man is undergoing treatment, and police have obtained CCTV footage of the incident.

Pune: A 58-year-old man was injured after three unidentified individuals allegedly attacked him with a sickle while attempting to snatch a bag containing approximately ₹4 lakh to ₹5 lakh in the Swargate area of Pune.
The injured man has been identified as Rajesh Dashrathlal Oswal, a resident of Alka Paradise near Sambhavnath Jain Temple.
According to preliminary police information, the incident took place at around 2:50 pm when Oswal was travelling on his two-wheeler near the temple. Three unidentified individuals approached him from behind on another two-wheeler and allegedly attempted to snatch his bag.
When Oswal resisted, the assailants allegedly attacked him with a sickle, causing injuries to his back and ribs.
Oswal was subsequently admitted to Adventist Hospital for treatment. Doctors informed police that his condition was stable, while further treatment would be determined following a CT scan.
Police have obtained CCTV footage from the crime scene, which could help identify the suspects and establish the sequence of events. Further investigation is underway.
