Yerwada Police Raid Shastrinagar Hotel, One Held in Alleged Sex Racket

Pune: Yerwada Police have busted an alleged prostitution racket operating from a hotel in Pune’s Shastrinagar area, arresting a 28-year-old man and rescuing women during a late-night operation.
According to police information, the raid was conducted at Hotel The Golden A.R.C. at around 8.50 pm on September 14, 2026, after officers received a tip-off about alleged illegal activities taking place on the premises.
Police identified the arrested accused as Raj Rajesham Savita (28), a Katraj resident originally from Uttar Pradesh.
Before conducting the raid, police reportedly verified the information by sending a decoy customer to the hotel. After receiving confirmation, a team from Yerwada Police Station entered the premises and carried out the operation.
Police allege that the accused was luring women with money and facilitating commercial sexual exploitation for financial gain. Women found at the premises were rescued during the operation.
A case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (ITPA) and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Further investigation is underway to establish whether any other individuals were involved in the alleged operation.
Police are also examining whether the hotel owner, management or any other persons had knowledge of or involvement in the alleged activities. The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of Senior Police Inspector Umesh Gitte.
Further action will depend on evidence gathered during the investigation.
